According to npr.com, a sinkhole measuring 656 feet (199 m) from top to bottom was discovered close to the mining community of Tierra Amarilla in Chile. Even the Washington Monument can fit inside if there are roughly 100 feet (30 m) of extra space. Authorities and investigators in Chile are still attempting to determine what led to it. The National and Mining Service, commonly known as Sernagomin, estimated that the diameter could be roughly 82 feet (24 m) broad after it was discovered on Saturday. However, the organization announced on Tuesday that the sinkhole's diameter is almost 105 feet (32 m).
