Innocent Kaia, who bats right-handed, expressed his confidence that Zimbabwe would triumph in their one-day international series against India 2-1. Recent results show that the 30-year-old was a member of the national squad that prevailed over Bangladesh by a score of 2-1. After scoring 110 runs in the first one-day international match, which took place in Harare, Kaia was a crucial part of their victory.
During that match, Kaia and Sikandar Raza combined to score 192 runs for the fourth wicket. Sikandar Raza’s unbeaten 135-run knock earned him the title of Player of the Match.
Kaia, who made his One-Day International debut earlier this year, also discussed how he plans to be the dominant hitter in the forthcoming white-ball series against the Men in Blue.
“The score is 2-1 in Zimbabwe’s favor. We are victorious in the series. In terms of my own personal goals and objectives, I want to lead the team in run scoring and finish with a hundred points. Simple plan. I just want to score runs so that I can finish the series as the player with the most run totals. In an interview with Times Now, Kaia was asked about her goals, and she responded by saying, “That’s my objective.”
In addition, Kaia was of the opinion that the inexperienced players on the Indian side could work to the favor of the team competing at home. Players of the caliber of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rishabh Pant will not be participating in the series.
“Thank you so much. I am sure I can say so. These guys are serious cricketers, especially when there is no Virat, Rohit Sharma, or Rishabh Pant in the lineup. Of course, you already know this. I am aware that the squad that is going to be competing in Zimbabwe is a formidable one, and we simply cannot give the impression that we believe we will have an easy time competing against them. “No, I have no doubt that I will put up a strong resistance against them,” he continued.
At the Harare Sports Club, the three One-Day Internationals are scheduled to take place on the 18, 20, and 22.
